March 2nd -- God and Evil (CANCELLED)

"God is..."

Just noticed a quirky coincidence...
We began February with a study on the Day of Atonement
and ended with a study on the book of Hosea.
Hosea spent a lot of time and money trying to win back his adulteress wife from the world and show her the way to salvation.
Theirs was a tumultuous love story that parallels the lengths that God will go to save (through Jesus/Hosea= salvation) all who are willing.

Atonement and Reconciliation through Jesus, our Savior.

“Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.
But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight,
without blemish and free from accusation—if you continue in your faith, established and firm,
and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel...” Col 1:21-23

Having studied the high cost of reconciliation, we will now look at why evil is so... evil.
If God is good/love/a provider/creator/a faithful Father/friend, etc...
Why does sin even exist?

Please join us this Friday as Pastor Zeke leads a study on
“the problem of evil”.
We will meet at Adey’s place in Trussville at 6:30pm.

She asks that we help by providing a salad and dessert.

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week & see you on Friday!

P.S.  The study starts at 7:30pm.
P.P.S. Bring a friend!
P.P.S.S. Need an inspirational scripture to read?
Try Hebrews 10 for more on atonement, reconciliation, victory over sin and faith to endure.

Let us press on to know Him.

February 10th -- WWJD Potluck

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?  Micah 6:8

Good morning!

The birds are chirping and today's gonna be a great day--
I can feel it.  For me and you.

We will have an FNF potluck this Friday at Melody's place!
She will lead our bible study with a close look at Christian Ethics.
Expect lively discussion, thoughtful input and spiritual application.
Be prepared to share!

We ask that you try to carpool as street parking may be limited. The apartments are brown and white/Old English village-y.
Climb the (many) stairs to her building-- the second one on the right.

To make the potluck a success, please indicate what you are able to bring in the chat box to the left of the screen.
Please try to do so by Thursday evening and we'll update this post, if necessary.

Thanks and God Bless you all!

Please don't let this happen :-)

Leviticus 16, Wordle

Dearest FNF-ers,

Please spend an extra few seconds observing the "wordle" above--
you have no idea how frustrating it was to get it on the blog and I just need
reassurance that it received even slightly more interest than
the usual istock photo of veggie lasagna.

Alrighty, moving on... Hope you're having a wonderful week!
Friday Night Feast will be hosted by our favorite Latinos
--Ezequel & Eliel!
Please remember your handouts from last week as
Hilary will conclude our study on Hebrew feasts with the Day of Atonement.
